Bantu Initiative was registered in 2010 both as a Charity and as a Company Limited by Guarantee in England and Wales. It is based in Leeds with projects and operations concentrated on Bradford and Leeds. It has also undertaken projects in Nottingham. Further, projects are earmarked for vulnerable and disadvantaged people in sub-Saharan African. Bantu Initiative seeks to attract more members, supporters who seek to make a positive and lasting impact among people.

Structure

The Board of Directors and Trustees.

The Board Chairman is Mr Garnet M. Mulomo. Mr Mulomo is an expert in Project Management and has worked for several years across the UK and developing countries. Other company directors include Mrs P. Nsumi Katulushi, a teacher at Leeds East Academy, and Mr James Frank, a founder member of the Leeds Guyanese Community Association. Last but not least, the Board includes Mr Lexington Dube, an expert in Environmental Management.

Administration

Bantu Initiative's Chief Executive is Dr Clement Katulushi who is supported by volunteer members Mr Calvin Mancama, Mr Kasongo Supuni, Ms Janicia Lamona and Ms Ayesha Tom.

Abid Hussain.

Mr Abid Hussain has worked in professional and voluntary capacities in Bradford for over 10 years, and continues to bring critical skills to the Bantu Initiative portfolio.

Angela Crawford.

Mrs Crawford brings a vast array of skills, information and passion about communities in West Yorkshire. She combines her knowledge of communities with professional social care practice and an eye for interior decorating as well as running a busy office.

Cassim Issa
Mr Issa joined Bantu Initiative on placement from Huddersfield University. Coming from a community work background, he brought with him a vital link focussing on partnership working and increasing volunteering.
